One
afternoon
Peter and John were going up to
the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Now
Peter and John were going up into
the temple at the hour of prayer, `being'
the ninth `
hour '
.
And a man who
was lame from birth
was being
carried to
the temple gate
called Beautiful, where
he
was
put
every
day
to beg
from
those
entering
the temple courts.
And a certain
man that
was lame from his
mother's
womb
was carried ,
whom
they
laid
daily
at
the door
of
the
temple which
is
called Beautiful, to ask
alms
of
them
that
entered
into
the temple ;
When
he
saw
Peter and John about to enter
, he
asked them
for
money
.
who
seeing
Peter and John about to go
into
the
temple
, asked to
receive
an
alms
.
Peter looked
directly
at
him, as
did
John .
“
Look at
us !”
said
Peter
.
And
Peter ,
fastening
his
eyes
upon
him, with
John ,
said,
Look on
us.
So
the
man
gave them his
attention
, expecting to receive something from them.
And
he
gave heed
unto
them, expecting to receive something from them.
But Peter said, “
Silver or
gold I
do
not
have ,
but what I have I
give you:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get
up
and
walk !”
But Peter said, Silver and
gold have I
none;
but what I have ,
that
give I
thee.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk .
Taking
him by the right hand, Peter
helped
him up ,
and at
once
the
man’s
feet and ankles
were
made
strong
.
And
he
took
him by the right hand, and
raised
him up :
and immediately
his
feet and his
ankle-bones
received
strength
.
He sprang
to
his
feet
and began to walk .
Then
he went
with them into the temple courts
, walking and leaping and praising God.
And
leaping
up,
he stood,
and began to walk ;
and
he entered
with them into the temple, walking ,
and leaping ,
and praising God.
When
all the people saw him walking and praising God ,
And
all the people saw him walking and praising God :
they recognized
him as
the
man
who
used
to
sit
begging
at the Beautiful Gate of the temple ,
and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what
had happened to
him.
and
they took
knowledge
of
him ,
that
it
was
he
that
sat
for
alms
at the Beautiful Gate of the temple ;
and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that
which
had happened unto
him.
While
the
man
clung
to
Peter and John, all the people were
astonished
and
ran to
them in the walkway
called Solomon’s
Colonnade
.
And
as
he
held
Peter and John, all the people ran together
unto
them in the porch
that
is
called Solomon's,
greatly
wondering
.
And when Peter saw this
, he addressed
the people :
“
Men of Israel, why are
you
surprised
by
this? Why do
you
stare
at
us as if
by our own power or godliness we had made this
man
walk?
And when Peter saw it
, he answered
unto
the people ,
Ye
men of Israel, why marvel
ye
at
this man
? or
why fasten
ye
your
eyes
on
us ,
as though
by our own power or godliness we had made him
to
walk?
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has
glorified His servant Jesus .
You
handed
Him
over
and rejected
Him
before Pilate, even
though
he had decided
to release Him.
The God of Abraham, and
of
Isaac, and of
Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath
glorified his Servant Jesus ;
whom
ye
delivered
up,
and denied
before the
face
of
Pilate, when
he had determined
to release him.
You
rejected
the Holy and Righteous One and asked that
a murderer be
released
to you .
But
ye
denied
the Holy and Righteous One ,
and asked for
a murderer to be
granted
unto
you ,
You
killed the Author
of life ,
but
God raised Him
from the dead ,
and
we are witnesses of
the
fact
.
and
killed the Prince
of life ;
whom
God raised from the dead ;
whereof
we are witnesses.
By faith in the
name of
Jesus,
this man whom you
see
and know has
been
made
strong.
It
is
Jesus’
name
and
the faith that
comes
through Him that
has
given him this complete
healing
in your
presence.
And
by faith in his
name hath
his
name
made
this man strong,
whom ye
behold
and know :
yea,
the faith which
is
through him hath
given him this perfect
soundness
in the
presence of
you
all
.
And now, brothers
, I know that you
acted
in ignorance, as did your leaders
.
And now, brethren
, I know that in ignorance ye
did
it
, as did also
your rulers
.
But in
this
way
God has
fulfilled
what
He
foretold
through
all the prophets, saying
that His Christ would
suffer.
But the
things
which
God foreshowed
by
the
mouth
of
all the prophets, that his Christ should
suffer ,
he
thus
fulfilled
.
Repent ,
then
, and turn back
, so
that your sins may be wiped
away
,
Repent ye
therefore
, and turn again
, that your sins may be blotted
out
, that
so
there
may
come
seasons
of
refreshing
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord;
that
times
of
refreshing
may
come
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord,
and that He may send Jesus,
the Christ ,
who has
been appointed for you .
and that he may send the Christ who hath
been appointed for you ,
`even'
Jesus:
Heaven must take
Him
in
until the time
comes
for
the
restoration of all things, which
God announced
long
ago
through
His holy prophets.
whom
the
heaven must receive
until the times
of
restoration of all things, whereof
God spake
by
the
mouth
of
His holy prophets that
have
been
from
of
old
.
For
Moses said, ‘
The Lord your
God will
raise up for
you a
prophet
like
me
from among your brothers
. You
must
listen
to Him in everything
He tells
you.
Moses indeed
said, A
prophet
shall
the Lord God raise up unto
you from among your brethren,
like
unto
me
. To him shall
ye
hearken
in all
things
whatsoever
he shall
speak
unto
you.
Everyone
who
does
not listen
to Him
will
be completely
cut
off
from among his
people. ’
And
it
shall
be,
that
every
soul
that
shall
not hearken
to that
prophet,
shall
be utterly
destroyed
from among the
people.
Indeed,
all the prophets from Samuel on
, as many as have spoken, have
proclaimed
these days.
Yea
and
all the prophets from Samuel and
them
that
followed
after
, as many as have spoken, they
also
told
of
these days.
And
you
are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers when
He
said
to
Abraham, ‘Through
your
offspring
all the families of the earth will
be blessed. ’
Ye
are the
sons of the prophets ,
and of the covenant which
God made with your fathers ,
saying
unto
Abraham, And
in
thy
seed
shall
all the families of the earth be blessed.
When
God raised up His Servant, He
sent Him first
to you
to
bless you by
turning each
of you from your wicked
ways
. ”
Unto
you
first
God ,
having
raised up his Servant, sent him to bless you ,
in
turning away
every
one
of you from your iniquities
.
