As God’s fellow workers, then , we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain .
Working together , we entreat also that you not receive the grace of God in vain ,
For He says : “In the time of favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is the time of favor; now is the day of salvation !
for he says , "At an acceptable time I listened to you, In a day of salvation I helped you. " Behold, now is the acceptable time . Behold, now is the day of salvation .
We put no obstacle in anyone’s way , so that no one can discredit our ministry.
We give no occasion of stumbling in anything , that our service may not be blamed,
Rather , as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance ; in troubles , hardships, and calamities;
but in everything commending ourselves , as servants of God , in great endurance , in afflictions , in hardships, in distresses,
in beatings, imprisonments, and riots ; in labor , sleepless nights , and hunger ;
in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots , in labors , in watchings , in fastings ;
in purity , knowledge, patience, and kindness ; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love ;
in pureness , in knowledge, in patience, in kindness , in the Holy Spirit , in sincere love ,
in truthful speech and in the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left ;
in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left ,
through glory and dishonor, slander and praise ; viewed as imposters , yet genuine ;
by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report ; as deceivers , and yet true ;
as unknown, yet well - known; dying, and yet we live on ; punished, yet not killed;
as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and not killed;
sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything .
as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things .
We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians. Our hearts are open wide .
Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians. Our heart is enlarged .
It is not our affection , but yours, that is restrained .
You are not restricted by us , but you are restricted by your own affections .
As a fair exchange , I ask you as my children : Open wide your hearts also .
Now in return , I speak as to my children , you also be open wide.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers . For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness ? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers , for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity ? Or what communion has light with darkness?
What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?
What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said : I will dwell with them and walk among them , and I will be their God, and they will be My people.
What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said , " I will dwell in them , and walk in them ; and I will be their God, and they will be my people. "
Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord . Touch no unclean thing , and I will receive you.
Therefore , "' Come out from among them , And be separate, ' says the Lord , ' Touch no unclean thing . I will receive you.
And: I will be a Father to you , and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters, ' says the Lord Almighty. "
