Berean Standard Bible
Elders
who
`are'
among
you,
I
exhort,
who
`am'
a fellow -
elder, and
a witness of the
sufferings of
the
Christ
, and of the glory about
to be revealed a
partaker
,
As
a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s
sufferings, and a
partaker
of the glory to be revealed, I
appeal
to
the
elders
among
you:
feed
the
flock
of God
that `
is '
among you, overseeing
not constrainedly
, but willingly,
neither
for
filthy
lucre
, but of a
ready
mind,
Be
shepherds
of God’s
flock
that is among you, watching
over
them
not out
of
compulsion
, but because
it
is
God’s
will;
not
out
of
greed
, but out
of eagerness;
neither
as
exercising
lordship
over the
heritages
, but patterns
becoming
of
the flock ,
not
lording
it
over those
entrusted
to
you
, but being
examples
to
the flock .
and at
the
manifestation
of
the chief Shepherd, ye
shall
receive the unfading
crown of glory.
And when
the Chief Shepherd appears
, you
will
receive the crown of glory that
will
never
fade
away
.
In
like
manner
, ye
younger
, be
subject
to elders ,
and all to
one
another
subjecting
yourselves;
with
humble-mindedness
clothe yourselves, because God the proud doth
resist
, but to the humble He
doth
give
grace;
Young
men
, in
the
same
way
, submit
yourselves
to your
elders .
And all of
you,
clothe yourselves with
humility
toward
one
another
, because ,
“
God opposes
the proud, but gives
grace
to the humble .”
be
humbled
, then
, under the
powerful
hand of
God
, that you
He may exalt in
good
time,
Humble
yourselves
, therefore
, under God’s
mighty
hand, so
that in
due
time
He may exalt you.
all your care
having
cast
upon
Him, because He careth
for you.
Cast
all your anxiety
on
Him, because He cares
for you.
Be sober ,
vigilant,
because
your opponent
the devil ,
as
a roaring lion, doth
walk
about,
seeking whom
he
may
swallow
up,
Be sober -minded
and
alert.
Your adversary
the devil prowls
around
like
a roaring lion, seeking someone
to
devour.
whom
resist, stedfast
in the
faith ,
having
known
the same
sufferings
to
your brotherhood
in
the world to
be
accomplished
.
Resist him
, standing
firm
in your
faith and
in
the knowledge
that
your brothers
throughout
the world are
undergoing
the
same
kinds
of
suffering
.
And the God of all grace, who did
call
you to His age-during
glory in Christ Jesus
, having
suffered
a
little,
Himself make
you perfect
, establish
, strengthen, settle
`
you ';
And after
you
have
suffered
for
a
little
while,
the God of all grace, who has
called
you to His eternal
glory in Christ, will
Himself restore
you, secure
you
, strengthen you
, and
establish
you .
to Him `is'
the
glory,
and
the power --
to
the
ages
and the
ages!
Amen.
To Him be
the power forever
and ever.
Amen.
Through Silvanus, to
you
the
faithful brother, as
I reckon,
through
few
`words'
I
did
write
, exhorting
and testifying this to
be
the true grace of God in which
ye
have
stood
.
Through Silvanus, whom
I
regard
as
a
faithful brother, I have
written
to
you
briefly
, encouraging
you
and testifying that
this is
the true grace of God .
Stand
firm
in it
.
Salute
you
doth
the `assembly'
in Babylon jointly
elected
, and
Markus
my son.
The church
in Babylon, chosen
together
with
you,
sends
you
greetings,
as
does
my son Mark
.
Salute
ye
one another in
a kiss of love ;
peace to you
all who `
are '
in Christ Jesus!
Amen
.
Greet
one another with
a kiss of love .
Peace to all of
you
who are in Christ.
