Berean Standard Bible
I
exhort
the
elders
among
you,
as a fellow elder, and
a witness of the
sufferings of
Christ
, and who
will
also
share
in
the glory that
will
be revealed .
As a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s
sufferings, and a
partaker
of
the glory to
be revealed ,
I
appeal
to
the
elders
among
you:
Shepherd
the
flock
of God
which
is among you, exercising
the
oversight,
not under
compulsion, but voluntarily,
not for
dishonest
gain
, but willingly
;
Be
shepherds
of God’s
flock
that
is among you, watching
over
them
not out
of
compulsion, but because
it
is
God’s
will;
not out
of
greed
, but out
of
eagerness
;
neither
as
lording it over the
charge
allotted
to you, but making
yourselves
examples to the flock.
not
lording it over those
entrusted
to you, but being
examples to the flock.
When the chief Shepherd is
revealed
, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't
fade away.
And
when the Chief Shepherd appears
, you will receive the crown of glory that will
never
fade away.
Likewise
, you
younger
ones
, be
subject
to the
elder
. Yes,
all of you gird
yourselves with humility ,
to
subject
yourselves
to
one another ;
for
"
God resists
the proud, but gives grace to the humble. "
Young
men
, in
the
same
way
, submit
yourselves
to your
elders
. And
all of you ,
clothe
yourselves with humility toward
one another ,
because,
“
God opposes
the proud, but gives grace to the humble. ”
Humble yourselves therefore under the
mighty hand of
God
, that he may exalt you in
due
time;
Humble yourselves ,
therefore ,
under God’s
mighty hand, so
that in
due
time
He may exalt you .
casting
all your worries
on him, because he cares for you.
Cast
all your anxiety
on Him, because He cares for you.
Be sober and
self
- controlled.
Be
watchful
. Your adversary the devil ,
walks
around like a roaring lion, seeking whom
he
may
devour.
Be sober- minded
and
alert
. Your adversary the devil prowls
around like a roaring lion, seeking someone
to
devour.
Withstand
him steadfast
in your faith ,
knowing
that your brothers who
are
in
the world are undergoing the same sufferings
.
Resist
him ,
standing
firm
in your faith and
in
the
knowledge
that your brothers throughout
the world are undergoing the same kinds
of
suffering
.
But
may
the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by
Christ Jesus
, after
you have
suffered
a
little
while
, perfect,
establish
, strengthen, and settle
you.
And
after
you
have
suffered
for
a
little
while,
the God of all grace, who has
called you to His eternal glory in
Christ, will
Himself
restore
you, secure
you
, strengthen you
, and establish
you.
To him be the glory
and
the
power forever and ever. Amen.
To Him be the power forever and ever. Amen.
Through Silvanus, our
faithful brother, as
I consider
him,
I
have written to you briefly, exhorting,
and testifying that this is the true grace of God in
which
you
stand.
Through Silvanus, whom
I
regard
as
a
faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging
you
and testifying that this is the true grace of God .
Stand firm
in
it
.
She
who
is
in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets
you ;
and
so
does
Mark
, my son.
The
church
in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends
you greetings
, as
does
my son Mark
.
Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be
to you
all who are in Christ Jesus
. Amen.
Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of
you
who are in Christ.
