The elders which
are
among you I
exhort
, who
am
also
an
elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a
partaker
of
the glory that shall
be revealed :
I
exhort
the elders among you, as
a
fellow
elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who
will
also share
in
the glory that will
be revealed .
Feed
the flock of God which is among you, taking
the oversight thereof
, not by
constraint
, but willingly;
not for filthy
lucre
, but of
a
ready
mind
;
Shepherd
the flock of God which is among you, exercising
the oversight, not under
compulsion
, but voluntarily,
not for dishonest
gain
, but willingly
;
Neither as being
lords
over God's
heritage
, but being
ensamples
to the flock.
neither as lording
it
over the
charge
allotted
to
you
, but making
yourselves
examples
to the flock.
And
when the chief Shepherd shall
appear
, ye
shall
receive a
crown of glory that fadeth
not
away.
When the chief Shepherd is
revealed
, you
will
receive the
crown of glory that doesn't
fade
away.
Likewise, ye
younger, submit
yourselves
unto
the elder. Yea
, all of you be
subject one
to another ,
and
be
clothed
with
humility:
for God resisteth
the proud, and
giveth
grace to the humble.
Likewise, you
younger ones
, be
subject
to
the elder. Yes
, all of you gird
yourselves
with
humility,
to
subject yourselves
to one
another ;
for "
God resists
the proud, but
gives
grace to the humble. "
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time :
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time ;
Casting all your care
upon
him ;
for
he careth
for you.
casting all your worries
on
him ,
because
he cares
for you.
Be sober ,
be vigilant;
because
your adversary the devil, as
a roaring lion, walketh
about,
seeking whom he may devour :
Be sober and
self-controlled.
Be watchful.
Your adversary the devil, walks
around
like
a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour .
Whom
resist
stedfast
in the
faith, knowing that the
same
afflictions
are
accomplished
in
your brethren
that
are in the world.
Withstand
him
steadfast
in your
faith, knowing that your brothers
who
are in the world are
undergoing
the
same
sufferings
.
But the God of all grace, who hath
called us
unto
his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that
ye
have suffered a while, make
you
perfect, stablish
, strengthen, settle you.
But may
the God of all grace, who called you
to
his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you
have suffered a little
while, perfect, establish
, strengthen, and
settle you.
To him be glory and dominion
for
ever
and ever. Amen.
To him be the
glory and the
power
forever
and ever. Amen.
By
Silvanus, a
faithful brother unto
you
, as I suppose
, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein
ye
stand.
Through
Silvanus, our
faithful brother, as I consider
him
, I have written to
you
briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in
which
you
stand.
The
church
that
is at
Babylon, elected
together with you, saluteth
you; and so doth
Marcus
my son.
She
who
is in
Babylon, chosen
together with you, greets
you; and so does
Mark,
my son.
Greet ye
one another with a kiss of charity
. Peace be with
you all that
are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Greet one another with a kiss of love
. Peace be to
you all who
are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
