Berean Standard Bible
The
elders
among
you
I
exhort,
who
am
a fellow -
elder, and
a witness of the
sufferings of
Christ
, who
am
also
a partaker of the glory that
shall
be revealed:
As
a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s
sufferings, and
a partaker of the glory to
be revealed ,
I
appeal
to
the
elders
among
you
:
Tend
the
flock
of God
which
is among you, exercising
the
oversight,
not of constraint
, but willingly,
according
to
`the
will of'
God
; nor
yet
for
filthy
lucre
, but of a
ready
mind
;
Be
shepherds
of God’s
flock
that
is among you, watching
over
them
not out
of compulsion
, but because
it
is
God’s
will; not
out
of
greed
, but out
of eagerness
;
neither
as
lording it over the
charge
allotted
to you, but making
yourselves
ensamples
to the flock.
not
lording it over those
entrusted
to you, but being
examples
to the flock.
And when the chief Shepherd shall
be
manifested
, ye
shall
receive the crown of glory that fadeth
not
away.
And when the Chief Shepherd appears
, you
will
receive the crown of glory that will
never
fade
away.
Likewise,
ye
younger
, be
subject
unto
the elder.
Yea
, all of you gird
yourselves with humility ,
to
serve
one another :
for
God resisteth
the proud, but giveth
grace to the humble.
Young
men
, in
the same
way
, submit
yourselves
to
your
elders.
And
all of you ,
clothe
yourselves with humility toward
one another ,
because,
“
God opposes
the proud, but gives
grace to the humble. ”
Humble yourselves therefore under the
mighty hand of
God
, that he may exalt you in
due
time;
Humble yourselves ,
therefore ,
under God’s
mighty hand, so
that in
due
time
He may exalt you .
casting
all your anxiety upon
him, because he careth
for you.
Cast
all your anxiety on
Him, because He cares
for you.
Be sober ,
be
watchful:
your adversary the devil ,
as
a roaring lion, walketh
about,
seeking whom
he
may
devour ,
Be sober -minded
and
alert.
Your adversary the devil prowls
around
like
a roaring lion, seeking someone
to
devour .
whom
withstand
stedfast
in your faith ,
knowing
that
the
same
sufferings
are
accomplished
in your brethren
who
are
in
the world.
Resist
him,
standing
firm
in your faith and
in the
knowledge
that
your brothers
throughout
the world are
undergoing
the
same
kinds
of
suffering
.
And the God of all grace, who called you unto
his eternal glory in Christ, after
that
ye
have
suffered
a
little
while,
shall
himself perfect
, establish
, strengthen you.
And after
you
have
suffered
for
a
little
while,
the God of all grace, who has
called you to
His eternal glory in Christ, will
Himself restore
you
, secure
you
, strengthen you ,
and
establish
you
.
To him `
be '
the dominion
for
ever
and ever. Amen.
To Him be the power
forever
and ever. Amen.
By
Silvanus, our
faithful brother, as
I account
`him',
I
have written unto
you briefly, exhorting,
and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand ye
fast
therein
.
Through
Silvanus, whom
I
regard
as
a
faithful brother, I have written to
you briefly, encouraging
you
and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm
in
it
.
She
that
is
in Babylon, elect
together with `
you '
, saluteth
you ;
and
`so
doth'
Mark
my son.
The
church
in Babylon, chosen
together with you, sends
you greetings,
as
does
my son Mark
.
Salute
one another with a kiss of love. Peace be
unto
you
all that
are in Christ.
Greet
one another with a kiss of love. Peace to
all of
you
who
are in Christ.
