hypocrisies

envies

evil
speakings

Rid
yourselves,
therefore, of
all malice
, deceit
, hypocrisy
, envy
, and
slander.

newborn babes
, long
for
the
spiritual milk which
is
without
guile
, that ye
may grow thereby
unto
salvation ;
Like
newborn babies
, crave
pure
spiritual milk, so
that by
it
you
may grow up
in
your
salvation ,
if
ye
have tasted that the Lord is gracious:
now
that
you
have tasted that the Lord is good.

whom
coming
, a
living stone, rejected indeed
of
men ,
but with
God
elect,
precious,
As
you
come
to
Him

living stone, rejected by
men but chosen

Behold
, I lay in Zion a chief
corner
stone, elect,
precious :

believeth

him shall

be put to shame.

it stands
in Scripture :
“See
, I lay in Zion a stone, a
chosen
and
precious cornerstone;
and the
one
who
believes
in
Him will
never
be put to shame. ”
For
you therefore
that
believe is the
preciousness:
but for
such
as
disbelieve
, The stone which
the builders rejected ,
The
same
was
made
the
head
of
the corner;
To
you who
believe ,
then,
this
stone
is precious.
But to
those
who
do
not
believe
, “
The stone the builders rejected has
become
the cornerstone,”
and, A stone of stumbling ,
and a rock of offence;
for
they stumble at
the word ,
being
disobedient:
whereunto
also
they were appointed.

they
disobey

are a elect
race

the excellencies

mercy, but now you
have received

Beloved, I beseech
you as sojourners
and pilgrims
, to abstain from fleshly
lust
, which war against the
soul ;
Beloved, I urge
you ,
as foreigners
and exiles
, to abstain from the
desires
of
the
flesh
, which war against your
soul .
having
your
behavior
seemly
among the Gentiles ;
that, wherein
they speak
against
you as evil-doers
, they may by
your good works,
which
they
behold,
glorify God in
the day of
visitation
.
Conduct
yourselves
with
such
honor
among the Gentiles that, though
they slander
you as evildoers
, they may see
your good deeds
and
glorify God on
the day He
visits
us
.
Be
subject
to
every
ordinance
of
man
for the Lord's
sake :
whether to the king ,
as supreme ;
Submit
yourselves
for the Lord’s
sake to
every
human
institution,
whether to the king as the
supreme authority,
or unto
governors ,
as sent by him for
vengeance
on
evil-doers
and for
praise
to them
that
do well
.

governors as those
sent by him to
punish
those
who
do
wrong
and to praise
those
who
do right
.
For so
is the
will of
God,
that by well-
doing ye
should put
to
silence the ignorance of foolish men :
For it
is God’s
will that by doing good
you
should silence the ignorance of foolish men .

not using
your freedom for
a cloak
of
wickedness,
but
as bondservants
of God.
Live
in
freedom
, but
do
not use
your freedom as
a cover-up
for
evil;
live
as servants
of God.
Honor
all
men.
Love the brotherhood .
Fear God .
Honor the king.
Treat
everyone
with
high
regard:
Love the brotherhood of
believers,
fear God ,
honor the king.
Servants, `be'
in
subjection
to your masters with all fear;
not only to the
good and gentle, but also
to the
froward
.
Servants, submit
yourselves
to your masters with all respect,
not only to those
who
are
good and gentle, but even
to those
who
are
unreasonable
.
For this
is
acceptable,
if for
conscience
toward
God a
man
endureth
griefs
, suffering
wrongfully
.
For if anyone
endures
the
pain
of
unjust
suffering
because
he
is
conscious
of
God, this
is
to
be
commended
.
For
what
glory
is it ,
if ,
when
ye
sin,
and
are buffeted
`
for it',
ye
shall
take
it patiently
? but if ,
when
ye
do
well,
and
suffer `
for it',
ye
shall
take
it patiently
, this is acceptable
with
God.
How
is it to
your
credit
if you
are beaten
for doing
wrong
and
you
endure
it? But if you
suffer for doing
good
and
you
endure
it, this is commendable
before
God.
For hereunto
were ye
called :

should follow his steps

Him

astray
like sheep ;
but are
now returned unto
the Shepherd and Bishop
of your souls.
For “you

of your souls.
