Berean Standard Bible
It is actually reported that there is fornication
among you, and such
fornication
as
is not
even among the
Gentiles,
that
one
`of
you'
hath
his father's
wife.
It is actually reported that there is sexual
immorality
among you, and of
a
kind
that
is intolerable
even among pagans:
A
man
has
his father’s
wife.
And ye
are puffed
up,
and did not
rather
mourn,
that
he
that
had
done
this deed
might
be
taken
away
from
among
you.
And you
are proud!
Shouldn’t
you
rather
have
been
stricken
with
grief
and have
removed
from
your
fellowship
the
man
who
did this ?
For
I verily,
being
absent in body but
present in spirit, have already as though
I were present judged
him
that
hath
so
wrought
this
thing,
Although
I am
absent from
you
in body ,
I
am
present with
you
in spirit, and
I
have already pronounced
judgment
on
the
one
who
did
this,
just
as if
I were present .
in the name of our Lord Jesus ,
ye
being
gathered
together,
and my
spirit, with the power of our
Lord Jesus,
When
you
are
assembled
in the name of our Lord Jesus and I
am
with
you
in
spirit, along
with the power of the
Lord Jesus,
to deliver
such
a
one
unto
Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the
spirit may be saved in
the day of the Lord Jesus
.
hand
this
man
over
to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so
that his
spirit may be saved on
the Day of the Lord.
Your glorying
is not good. Know
ye
not that a little leaven leaveneth
the whole lump
?
Your boasting
is not good. Do
you
not know
that a little leaven works
through
the whole batch
of
dough
?
Purge
out
the old leaven, that ye
may be a new lump
, even
as ye
are unleavened
. For our passover also
hath
been sacrificed ,
`even'
Christ:
Get
rid
of
the old leaven, that you
may be a new unleavened
batch
, as you
really
are. For Christ,
our Passover lamb,
has
been sacrificed .
wherefore
let us keep the feast, not with old leaven
, neither
with the
leaven
of
malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Therefore
let us keep the feast, not with the
old bread
, leavened
with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and of
truth.
I wrote unto
you in my epistle
to have
no
company
with fornicators;
I wrote you in my letter
not
to associate
with sexually
immoral
people.
not at
all
`meaning'
with
the fornicators
of this world, or with
the covetous
and extortioners
, or with
idolaters ;
for
then
must
ye
needs
go
out
of
the
world :
I
was
not including
the sexually
immoral
of this world, or the greedy
and swindlers
, or idolaters .
In
that
case
you
would
have
to
leave
this
world .
but as
it
is,
I wrote
unto
you not to keep
company,
if
any
man
that
is
named
a
brother
be a fornicator,
or covetous
, or
an idolater ,
or a reviler
, or
a drunkard ,
or an
extortioner;
with such a one
no,
not to
eat.
But now
I am
writing
you not to associate
with
anyone
who
claims
to
be a brother
but
is
sexually
immoral
or greedy
, an idolater or a verbal
abuser
, a drunkard or a
swindler.
With such a man
do
not even
eat.
For
what have
I
to do
with
judging
them
that
are
without
? Do
not ye
judge them
that
are
within
?
What business
of
mine
is
it
to judge
those
outside
the
church
? Are
you
not to
judge those
inside
?
But
them
that
are
without
God judgeth
. Put
away
the wicked man from among yourselves
.
God will
judge
those
outside
. “Expel
the wicked man from among you
. ”
