YLT
Young's Literal Translation
KJV
King James Version
Paul ,
a
called apostle of Jesus Christ ,
through the will of God, and Sosthenes the
brother,
Paul called to
be
an
apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our
brother,
to
the assembly
of God that
is in
Corinth, to those
sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all those
calling
upon the name of our
Lord
Jesus Christ in
every
place
--
both theirs
and ours
:
Unto
the church
of God which
is at
Corinth, to them
that
are
sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to
be
saints, with all that
in
every
place
call
upon the name of Jesus Christ our
Lord,
both their's
and our's
:
Grace to
you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ !
Grace be
unto
you ,
and peace ,
from God our Father ,
and from
the Lord Jesus Christ .
I give
thanks
to
my God always concerning
you
for the grace of God that
was
given to
you in
Christ
Jesus ,
I thank
my God always on
your
behalf,
for the grace of God which
is
given you by
Jesus Christ;
that in every thing ye were
enriched in
him, in all discourse
and all knowledge ,
That in every thing ye are
enriched by
him, in all utterance,
and in
all knowledge ;
according
as the testimony of the
Christ was confirmed in you ,
Even
as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you :
so that ye are
not
behind in any
gift ,
waiting for the revelation
of our Lord Jesus Christ ,
So that ye come
behind in no
gift ;
waiting for the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ :
who also
shall confirm you unto the end --
unblamable
in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ ;
Who shall also
confirm you unto the end ,
that
ye
may
be
blameless
in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ .
faithful
`is'
God, through
whom ye were called to
the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
God is
faithful
, by
whom ye were called unto
the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
And
I call
upon
you, brethren, through
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that the same thing ye
may
all
say
, and there may
not
be divisions among you ,
and
ye may
be perfected
in the same mind ,
and in the same judgment ,
Now
I beseech
you, brethren, by
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye
all
speak
the same thing, and that
there be no
divisions among you ;
but
that
ye be perfectly
joined
together
in the same mind and in the same judgment .
for it was
signified
to
me concerning
you, my brethren, by those
of Chloe, that contentions
are among you ;
For it hath
been
declared
unto
me of
you, my brethren, by them
which
are
of the
house
of
Chloe, that there
are contentions
among you .
and
I say this
, that each
one of you saith, `
I ,
indeed,
am of Paul '
--
`
and I of Apollos ,'
--
`
and I of Cephas ,'
--
`
and I of Christ. '
Now
this
I say, that every
one of you saith, I am of Paul ;
and I of Apollos ;
and I of Cephas ;
and I of Christ.
Hath
the
Christ been
divided? was Paul crucified for you? or to
the name of Paul were
ye
baptized;
Is
Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were
ye
baptized
in
the name of Paul ?
I give
thanks
to
God that no
one
of you did
I
baptize
, except
Crispus and Gaius --
I thank
God that I
baptized
none
of you, but
Crispus and Gaius ;
that
no
one
may
say that to
my
own name I
did
baptize;
Lest
any
should
say that I
had
baptized
in
mine
own name .
and I did
baptize
also Stephanas'
household --
further
, I have
not known
if
I did
baptize
any other.
And I baptized
also the
household of
Stephanas:
besides
, I know
not whether
I baptized
any other.
For Christ did
not
send
me to baptize, but --
to proclaim
good
news;
not in
wisdom of discourse
, that
the cross of the
Christ may
not
be made of none effect ;
For Christ sent
me not
to baptize, but to preach
the
gospel:
not with
wisdom of words
, lest
the cross of Christ should
be made of none effect .
for the word
of the cross to
those
indeed
perishing
is foolishness,
and
to us --
those
being
saved --
it is the power of God ,
For the preaching
of the cross is to them
that
perish
foolishness;
but
unto
us which
are
saved it is the power of God .
for it hath
been
written, `
I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the
intelligence
of
the
intelligent
I
will bring to nought;'
For it is
written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing
the
understanding
of
the
prudent.
where `
is '
the wise? where the scribe? where a
disputer of this age
? did
not God make
foolish the wisdom of this world?
Where is the wise? where is
the scribe? where is
the
disputer of this world
? hath
not God made
foolish the wisdom of this world?
for ,
seeing
in the wisdom of God the world through
the
wisdom knew not God, it did
please
God through
the foolishness of the
preaching to save those
believing
.
For after
that
in the wisdom of God the world by
wisdom knew not God, it pleased
God by
the foolishness of preaching to save them
that
believe
.
Since
also
Jews ask
a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom ,
For
the
Jews require
a sign, and the
Greeks seek after
wisdom :
also
we
--
we preach Christ crucified, to
Jews ,
indeed,
a stumbling-block
, and to
Greeks foolishness ,
But
we preach Christ crucified, unto
the
Jews a stumblingblock
, and unto
the
Greeks foolishness ;
and
to
those
called --
both Jews and Greeks --
Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God ,
But
unto
them
which
are
called ,
both Jews and Greeks ,
Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God .
because the foolishness of God is wiser than men ,
and the weakness of God is stronger than men ;
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men ;
and the weakness of God is stronger than men .
for see your calling, brethren, that not many `are'
wise according
to
the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble ;
For ye
see your calling, brethren, how
that not many wise men
after
the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble ,
are
called:
but the foolish things of the world did
God
choose,
that
the wise He
may
put
to
shame
; and the weak things of the world did
God
choose
that
He
may
put
to shame
the strong
;
But God
hath
chosen
the foolish things of the world to
confound
the wise; and God
hath
chosen
the weak things of the world to confound
the things
which
are
mighty
;
and the
base things of the world, and the
things despised did
God choose
, and the
things that
are not, that
the
things that are He
may
make
useless
--
And base things of the world, and things which
are
despised ,
hath
God chosen
, yea,
and things which
are not, to
bring
to
nought
things that are :
that no flesh may
glory before
Him;
That no flesh should
glory in
his
presence.
and
of Him ye
--
ye
are in Christ Jesus, who became
to
us
from
God wisdom, righteousness also
, and sanctification, and redemption ,
But
of him are ye
in Christ Jesus, who of
God is
made
unto
us
wisdom, and
righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption :
that, according as it hath
been
written, `
He who
is
glorying
--
in
the
Lord
let him glory. '
That, according as it is
written, He that
glorieth,
let him glory in
the
Lord
.
