If I speak with
the languages
of men and of angels, but don't
have love, I have
become
sounding
brass,
or a clanging cymbal.
If I speak in
the tongues
of men and of angels, but have not
love, I am
only
a
ringing
gong
or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy ,
and know
all mysteries and all knowledge ;
and if I have all
faith ,
so as to remove
mountains, but don't
have love, I am nothing.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can
fathom
all mysteries and all knowledge ,
and if I have absolute
faith so as to move
mountains, but have not
love, I am nothing.
If I dole
out
all my
goods
to feed
the poor ,
and if
I
give
my body to
be
burned
, but don't
have love, it
profits
me
nothing.
If I give
all I
possess
to the poor and exult
in
the
surrender
of
my body, but have not
love, I
gain
nothing.
Love is patient and
is kind ;
love
doesn't
envy
. Love
doesn't
brag
, is not proud ,
Love is patient ,
love

inappropriately

Love
takes

pleasure
in evil

away

childish things

now we see in a mirror ,
dimly,

then face to face. Now I know in part ,

then I will
know fully, even as I was

fully known.
Now we see but
a
dim
reflection
as
in a mirror ;
then we
shall
see
face to face. Now I know in part ;
then I shall
know fully, even as I am
fully known.
But
now faith, hope, and love remain--these
three.
The greatest of these is love.
And
now these
three
remain:
faith, hope, and love ;
but
the greatest of these is love.
