the Book of the Kings of Israel .
But
Judah was
exiled
to Babylon because
of
their unfaithfulness
.
And
the first inhabitants,
who
`are'
in
their possession,
in their cities ,
of
Israel
, `are'
the
priests, the
Levites, and the
Nethinim
.
Now
the first to
resettle
their own
property
in their cities were
Israelites
, priests, Levites, and temple
servants
.
And
in
Jerusalem
dwelt
of the sons
of Judah, and
of
the
sons
of
Benjamin, and
of
the
sons
of
Ephraim and Manasseh:
These
were

of the descendants
of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim ,

Jerusalem

the king
eastward;

the companies
of the sons

Levi

he
was
previously
stationed
at the King’s
Gate on
the east
side.

the gatekeepers from
the camp
of the Levites

And
Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his brethren,
of
the
house
of
his
father,
the Korahites ,
`are'
over
the
work
of
the
service,
keepers
of
the thresholds of the tent, and
their fathers `are'
over
the camp
of
Jehovah,
keepers
of the entrance;
Shallum son of Kore, the
son of Ebiasaph, the
son of Korah, and his relatives
from
the Korahites were
assigned
to
guard
the thresholds of the Tent, just
as
their fathers had
been
assigned
to
guard
the entrance
to
the
dwelling
of the LORD.
and
Phinehas son of Eleazar hath
been leader
over
them
formerly;
Jehovah
`is'
with him.
In
earlier
times
Phinehas son of Eleazar had
been in
charge
of
the
gatekeepers,
and
the
LORD
was
with him.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah `is'
gatekeeper at the opening
of
the tent of meeting.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was
the
gatekeeper at the entrance
to
the Tent of Meeting.
All
of those who
are
chosen for
gatekeepers at the thresholds `are'
two
hundred
and
twelve;
they `are'
in their villages ,
by
their
genealogy;
they
whom
David and Samuel the seer appointed in
their office
.
The
number
of those chosen to
be
gatekeepers at the thresholds was
212.
They were
registered
by
genealogy
in their villages .

to come

for seven days
from

time
with

.
Their relatives

from

to serve
with

.

in
office

the four chiefs

gatekeepers, they

Levites, and
they
have
been
over
the chambers,

the treasuries of the house of God ,

the four chief
gatekeepers, who

entrusted
with
the rooms
and the treasuries of the house of God .
and
round
about
the house of God they
lodge
, for on
them

watch,
and they

over
the
opening ,

morning

morning.
They
would
spend
the night
stationed
around
the
house of God, because
they
were
responsible
for guarding
it
and opening it
every
morning.
And

of them `are'
over
the
vessels
of service,
for
by
number
they
bring

in, and
by
number

take
them out.
Some of them were
in
charge
of the
articles
used
in worship
, to
count
them whenever
they
were
brought
in
or
taken
out.
And

of them
are
appointed
over
the vessels,
even
over
all
the
vessels
of the sanctuary, and

the fine flour, and
the
wine, and
the
oil, and
the
frankincense, and the
spices.
Others
were
put
in
charge
of the furnishings
and
other
articles
of the sanctuary, as
well
as
the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.
And `
some '
of the sons of the priests are
mixing
the mixture
for
spices.
And some of the sons of the priests mixed
the spices.
And
Mattithiah, of
the Levites
(he
`is'
the
first-born
to
Shallum the Korahite )
, `is'
in
office
over
the
work
of
the pans
.
A
Levite
named
Mattithiah, the firstborn
son
of
Shallum the Korahite, was
entrusted
with
baking
the bread
.
And
of
the
sons
of
the
Kohathite,

of their brethren

over
the bread
of the arrangement,

prepare

sabbath
by
sabbath.
Some of their Kohathite
brothers

preparing

Those

Shimeam ,

over-against
their brethren,

dwelt
in Jerusalem with

brethren
