King James Version
These
were
the divisions of the gatekeepers
: From
the Korahites:
Meshelemiah son of Kore, one
of the sons of Asaph.
Concerning
the divisions of the porters
: Of
the Korhites
was
Meshelemiah the
son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.
Meshelemiah
had
sons :
Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
And
the
sons of
Meshelemiah
were,
Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, and
Eliehoenai
the seventh.
Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai
the seventh.
And
Obed-edom
also
had
sons :
Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar
the fourth, Nethanel
the fifth ,
Moreover
the
sons of
Obededom
were,
Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and
Sacar
the fourth, and
Nethaneel
the fifth .
Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, and
Peullethai
the eighth .
For God had
blessed Obed-edom
.
Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai
the eighth :
for God blessed him
.
Also to
his son Shemaiah
were born
sons who
ruled over
their families
because
they were strong,
capable
men.
Also unto
Shemaiah
his son were sons born,
that
ruled throughout
the
house
of
their father:
for
they were mighty
men of
valor
.
Shemaiah’s
sons were
Othni, Rephael, Obed, and
Elzabad ;
his
brothers
were Elihu and Semachiah ,
also
capable
men
.
The
sons of
Shemaiah;
Othni, and
Rephael, and
Obed, Elzabad ,
whose
brethren
were strong
men,
Elihu ,
and Semachiah.
All these were
descendants
of Obed-edom;
they and their sons and brothers
were
capable
men with
strength to
do
the work—62
in
all
from
Obed-edom
.
All these of the
sons
of
Obededom:
they and their sons and their
brethren,
able
men for
strength for
the service,
were
threescore
and
two
of
Obededom
.
Meshelemiah also
had sons and brothers
who
were
capable
men —18
in
all
.
And
Meshelemiah had sons and brethren,
strong
men ,
eighteen
.
Hosah the Merarite
also
had sons :
Shimri
the first
( although
he was not the firstborn, his father had
appointed
him as
the first
) ,
Also
Hosah ,
of
the children
of
Merari,
had sons ;
Simri
the chief,
( for
though
he was not the firstborn, yet
his father made
him the chief;
)
Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, and
Zechariah the fourth .
The sons and brothers
of Hosah numbered
13
in
all
.
Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth :
all
the sons and brethren
of Hosah were
thirteen
.
These divisions of the gatekeepers
, through
their
chief men, had
duties
for
ministering
in the house of the LORD ,
just
as
their
brothers
did
.
Among
these were
the
divisions of the porters
, even
among
the
chief men, having
wards
one
against
another,
to
minister
in the house of the LORD.
They cast lots for
each
gate
, according to their families
, young
and
old
alike
.
And
they cast lots, as
well
the
small
as
the
great,
according to the
house
of
their fathers
, for
every
gate
.
The lot for
the
East
Gate
fell to Shelemiah. Then lots
were
cast
for his son Zechariah
, a wise counselor, and the
lot for
the
North
Gate
fell
to
him
.
And
the lot eastward
fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah
his son, a wise counselor, they
cast
lots;
and his
lot came
out
northward
.
The
lot
for
the
South
Gate
fell
to Obed-edom,
and the
lot
for
the
storehouses
to his sons.
To Obededom
southward;
and to his sons the
house
of
Asuppim
.
The lots
for
the West
Gate and
the
Shallecheth Gate
on
the ascending
highway
fell
to
Shuppim
and
Hosah.
There
were
guards
stationed
at
every
watch
.
To
Shuppim
and
Hosah
the lot
came
forth
westward,
with
the gate Shallecheth ,
by
the causeway
of
the
going
up,
ward
against
ward
.
Each
day
there
were six Levites on
the
east
, four on
the
north
, four on
the
south
, and two pairs
at
the
storehouse
.
Eastward
were six Levites, northward
four a
day
, southward
four a
day
, and toward
Asuppim
two and
two
.
As
for
the
court
on
the
west
, there
were
four at the highway
and two at the
court
.
At
Parbar
westward
, four at the causeway,
and two at Parbar
.
These were
the divisions of the gatekeepers
who
were
descendants
of Korah
and Merari.
These are
the divisions of the porters
among
the
sons
of Kore,
and among
the
sons
of
Merari.
Now
their
fellow
Levites
were
in
charge
of the treasuries
of the house of God and the treasuries
of the dedicated things.
And
of the Levites,
Ahijah
was
over
the
treasures
of the house of God ,
and over
the treasures
of the dedicated things.
From
the descendants
of Ladan,
who
were
Gershonites
through
Ladan
and
heads
of the families
of Ladan
the Gershonite, were Jehieli ,
As
concerning
the sons
of Laadan;
the
sons
of the Gershonite
Laadan,
chief
fathers,
even
of Laadan
the Gershonite, were Jehieli .
the sons of Jehieli ,
Zetham, and his brother Joel.
They
were in
charge
of
the treasuries
of the house of the LORD.
The sons of Jehieli ;
Zetham, and Joel
his brother ,
which
were over
the treasures
of the house of the LORD.
From
the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites:
Of
the Amramites, and
the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites:
Shebuel ,
a
descendant
of Gershom son of Moses, was the
officer
in
charge
of the treasuries
.
And
Shebuel the
son
of Gershom ,
the
son of Moses, was ruler
of the treasures
.
His relatives
through
Eliezer included
Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.
And
his brethren
by
Eliezer ;
Rehabiah his son, and
Jeshaiah his son, and
Joram his son, and
Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.
This
Shelomith and his brothers
were in
charge
of
all the treasuries
for
the things
dedicated by
King
David, by
the heads
of
families
who
were
the commanders
of
thousands and of
hundreds, and by
the army
commanders
.
Which
Shelomith and his brethren
were over
all the treasures
of
the dedicated things,
which
David the
king
, and
the chief
fathers,
the captains
over
thousands and hundreds, and the captains
of
the
host,
had
dedicated
.
They
had
dedicated
some
of the plunder
from
their
battles to the
repair
of
the house of the LORD.
Out
of the spoils
won
in
battles did
they
dedicate
to maintain
the house of the LORD.
Everything
that had
been
dedicated
by
Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah, along
with
everything
else
that
was
dedicated, was under the care
of Shelomith and his brothers
.
And
all
that Samuel the seer, and
Saul the
son of Kish, and
Abner the
son of Ner, and Joab the
son of Zeruiah, had
dedicated ;
and
whosoever
had
dedicated
any
thing
, it
was under the hand
of Shelomith ,
and of
his brethren
.
From
the Izrahites
, Chenaniah and his sons had
the outside
duties
as
officers and judges over
Israel
.
Of
the Izharites
, Chenaniah and his sons were
for
the outward
business
over
Israel,
for
officers and judges.
From
the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his relatives,
1
, 700
capable
men ,
had
charge
of the
affairs
of Israel west
of
the
Jordan for
all the work
of the LORD and for
the service of the king.
And
of
the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren
, men of valor,
a
thousand
and
seven
hundred,
were
officers
among
them
of Israel on
this
side
Jordan westward
in
all the business
of the LORD ,
and in
the service of the king.
As
for
the Hebronites ,
Jerijah
was the chief of
the Hebronites, according to the genealogies
of his ancestors
. In the fortieth year of David’s
reign
the records
were searched
, and strong,
capable
men
were found among the
Hebronites
at Jazer in
Gilead.
Among
the Hebronites was Jerijah
the chief ,
even
among
the Hebronites, according to the generations
of his fathers
. In the fortieth year of the reign
of
David
they
were sought
for
, and there
were found among them
mighty
men
of
valor
at Jazer of
Gilead.
Among
Jerijah’s
relatives
there
were
2
, 700
capable
men who
were
heads
of families.
King David appointed
them
over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half -
tribe of Manasseh for every matter pertaining to God and to
the
affairs of the king.
And
his
brethren
, men of valor,
were
two
thousand
and
seven
hundred
chief
fathers,
whom
king David made
rulers
over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh ,
for every matter pertaining to God ,
and affairs of the king.
