For
the courses
of the doorkeepers
: of
the Korahites ,
Meshelemiah the
son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.
These
were
the divisions
of the gatekeepers
: From
the Korahites :
Meshelemiah son of Kore, one
of the sons of Asaph.
And
Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the first-born
, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn
, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,
Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Eliehoenai the seventh.
Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, and
Eliehoenai the seventh.
And Obed-edom had sons: Shemaiah the first-born
, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and
Sacar
the fourth, and
Nethanel the fifth,
And Obed-edom also
had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn
, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar
the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,
Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth ;
for God blessed him
.
Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, and
Peullethai the eighth .
For God had
blessed Obed-edom
.
Also unto
Shemaiah
his son were sons
born ,
that
ruled over the
house
of
their father;
for
they were mighty
men of
valor
.
Also to
his son Shemaiah
were born sons
who
ruled over their families
because
they were strong,
capable
men.
The
sons of
Shemaiah:
Othni, and
Rephael, and
Obed, Elzabad ,
whose
brethren
were valiant
men,
Elihu ,
and Semachiah.
Shemaiah’s
sons were
Othni, Rephael, Obed, and
Elzabad ;
his
brothers
were Elihu and Semachiah ,
also
capable
men
.
All these were of
the
sons
of Obed-edom :
they and their sons and their
brethren,
able
men in
strength for
the service;
threescore
and
two
of
Obed-edom.
All these were descendants
of Obed-edom ;
they and their sons and brothers
were
capable
men with
strength to
do
the work—62
in
all
from
Obed-edom.
And
Meshelemiah had sons and brethren,
valiant
men ,
eighteen
.
Meshelemiah also
had sons and brothers
who
were
capable
men —18
in
all
.
Also
Hosah ,
of
the children
of
Merari,
had sons: Shimri the chief,
( for
though
he was not the first-born
, yet
his father made
him chief
),
Hosah the Merarite
also
had sons: Shimri the first
( although
he was not the firstborn
, his father had
appointed
him as
the
first
),
Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth :
all
the sons and brethren
of Hosah were
thirteen
.
Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, and
Zechariah the fourth .
The sons and brothers
of Hosah numbered
13
in
all
.
Of
these were
the
courses
of the doorkeepers
, even
of
the
chief men, having
offices
like
their
brethren,
to
minister
in the house of Jehovah
.
These divisions
of the gatekeepers
, through
their
chief men, had
duties
for
ministering
in the house of the
LORD,
just
as
their
brothers
did
.
And
they cast lots ,
as
well
the
small
as
the
great
, according to their fathers'
houses
, for
every
gate
.
They cast lots for
each
gate
, according to their families
, young
and
old
alike
.
And
the lot eastward
fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah
his son, a discreet
counsellor
, they
cast
lots;
and his
lot came
out
northward
.
The lot for
the
East
Gate
fell to Shelemiah. Then lots
were
cast
for his son Zechariah
, a wise
counselor
, and the
lot for
the
North
Gate
fell
to
him
.
To Obed-edom southward;
and to his sons the
store-house
.
The
lot
for
the
South
Gate
fell
to Obed-edom ,
and the
lot
for
the
storehouses
to his sons.
To Shuppim and Hosah westward,
by
the
gate
of
Shallecheth,
at the
causeway
that
goeth
up,
watch
against
watch.
The
lots
for
the
West
Gate
and
the
Shallecheth
Gate
on
the
ascending
highway
fell
to Shuppim and Hosah .
There
were
guards
stationed
at every
watch.
Eastward
were six Levites, northward
four a
day
, southward
four a
day,
and
for
the store-house
two
and two.
Each
day
there
were six Levites on
the
east
, four on
the
north
, four on
the south,
and two pairs
at
the
storehouse
.
For Parbar
westward
, four at the causeway,
and two at Parbar
.
As
for the
court
on
the
west
, there
were
four at the highway
and two at the
court
.
These were the courses
of
the
doorkeepers;
of the sons
of the
Korahites,
and of
the
sons
of
Merari.
These were the divisions
of the gatekeepers
who
were
descendants
of Korah
and Merari.
And
of
the
Levites ,
Ahijah
was
over
the treasures
of the house of God ,
and over
the treasures
of the dedicated things.
Now
their
fellow
Levites were
in
charge
of
the treasuries
of the house of God and the treasuries
of the dedicated things.
The sons
of Ladan, the
sons
of
the
Gershonites belonging
to
Ladan ,
the
heads of the fathers'
`houses'
belonging
to
Ladan the Gershonite :
Jehieli .
From
the descendants
of Ladan, who
were
Gershonites through
Ladan and
heads of the families
of
Ladan the Gershonite ,
were
Jehieli ,
The sons of Jehieli :
Zetham, and Joel
his brother ,
over
the treasures
of the house of Jehovah
.
the sons of Jehieli ,
Zetham, and his brother Joel.
They
were
in
charge
of
the treasuries
of the house of the
LORD
.
Of
the Amramites, of
the Izharites, of
the Hebronites, of
the Uzzielites:
From
the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and
the Uzzielites:
and
Shebuel the
son
of Gershom ,
the
son of Moses, was ruler
over
the treasures
.
Shebuel ,
a
descendant
of Gershom son of Moses, was the officer
in
charge
of
the
treasuries
.
And
his brethren:
of
Eliezer `came'
Rehabiah his son, and
Jeshaiah his son, and
Joram his son, and
Zichri his son, and Shelomoth
his son.
His relatives
through
Eliezer included
Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zichri his son, and Shelomith
his son.
This Shelomoth
and his brethren
were over
all the treasures
of
the dedicated
things ,
which
David
the
king, and
the heads of the
fathers'
`houses',
the captains
over
thousands and hundreds, and the
captains
of
the host,
had
dedicated
.
This Shelomith
and his brothers
were in
charge
of
all the treasuries
for
the things dedicated
by
King David
, by
the heads of families
who
were
the commanders
of
thousands and of
hundreds, and by
the army
commanders
.
Out
of the spoil
won
in
battles did
they
dedicate
to repair the house of Jehovah
.
They
had
dedicated
some
of the plunder
from
their
battles to the
repair of
the house of the
LORD
.
And
all
that Samuel the seer, and
Saul the
son of Kish, and
Abner the
son of Ner, and Joab the
son of Zeruiah, had
dedicated,
whosoever
had
dedicated anything
, it
was under the hand
of Shelomoth,
and of
his brethren
.
Everything
that had
been
dedicated
by
Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah, along
with
everything
else
that
was
dedicated, was under the care
of Shelomith
and his brothers
.
Of
the Izharites
, Chenaniah and his sons were
for
the outward
business
over
Israel,
for
officers and judges.
From
the Izrahites
, Chenaniah and his sons had
the outside
duties
as
officers and judges over
Israel
.
Of
the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren
, men
of
valor
, a
thousand
and
seven
hundred
, had the oversight
of Israel beyond
the Jordan westward,
for all the business
of Jehovah,
and for the service of the king.
From
the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his relatives
, 1
, 700
capable
men
, had charge
of
the affairs
of Israel west
of
the Jordan for all the work
of the
LORD
and for the service of the king.
Of
the Hebronites was
Jerijah the chief ,
even
of the Hebronites, according to their
generations
by
fathers'
`houses'
. In the fortieth year of the
reign of
David
they
were sought
for
, and there
were found among them
mighty
men
of
valor
at Jazer of
Gilead.
As
for
the Hebronites ,
Jerijah was
the chief of the Hebronites, according to the
genealogies
of
his
ancestors
. In the fortieth year of David’s
reign the
records
were searched
, and strong,
capable
men
were found among the
Hebronites
at Jazer in
Gilead.
And
his
brethren
, men of
valor,
were two
thousand
and
seven
hundred,
heads of fathers'
`houses',
whom
king David made
overseers
over the Reubenites, and
the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the
Manassites,
for every matter pertaining to God ,
and for
the affairs of the king.
Among
Jerijah’s
relatives
there
were
2
, 700
capable
men who
were heads of families.
King David appointed
them
over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh
for every matter pertaining to God and to
the affairs of the king.
